Statement:To promote a quality
learning environment with meaningful relationships at the heart of what we do.
At Snowdrops family and community is central to our practice.
Philosophy:Snowdrops Creche aims to
provide a friendly, welcoming environment where children feel safe and where
their natural love of learning is enhanced and encouraged. We believe in
providing a caring, culturally sensitive environment that will support your
child in reaching his / her potential. Our commitment to Aistear,
the Early Childhood Curriculum and Siolta the National Quality framework
provides the basis for our curriculum and practice.
We believe each child is
unique and learns through respectful, responsive relationships with people,
places and things, as well as through active exploration of the environment
which is constructed to scaffold children’s learning while supporting and
encouraging their interests. Through noticing,
recognising and responding to children’s learning dispositions and interests, teachers
will extend and enhance the children’s learning and development. Free choice within clear
guidelines, encourages exploration and independence.
We encourage children to
take risks in a safe environment. We value structured and
unstructured learning opportunities. We believe partnership with
parents enhances the quality of education and care.
We will promote a genuine
partnership with parents built on mutual trust and respect. We support the Convention
of the Rights of the child (UNCRC) 1992.
As part of our commitment
to quality we believe in reflective teaching practices and ongoing professional
development for all our teachers.
